A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of talking to Dave Lloyd who volunteers as a Search Technician, Team Leader, Navigation Lead, Lowland Rescue First Responder and member of the water rescue team with Dorset Search and Rescue. Dave tells us how to stay safe while exploring. These helpful tips can be used throughout the UK too :)    "Staying Safe Outdoors in Dorset   Dorset is a stunning county and we are blessed to live and work here. Craving for the hills “There is something primal about cooking in the outdoors.” My name is Harrison Ward, perhaps better known as Fell Foodie. I’m an outdoor cook and can often be found creating restaurant style dishes, in my local Lake District mountains, on minimal equipment. Creating different variants of food has been a lifelong passion after being introduced to it via my Grandma. I'm a regular hiker/ wild camper/ YouTuber / Instagram poster (admittedly recently started).   My story begins with Covid 19 and the beginning of the lockdown. One path...

Why I walk?   I walk to get away from the everyday little stresses and worries and enjoy either walking on my own or with friends. I love the beauty of what nature can deliver and seeing places that we don’t get chance to see everyday.    I first started walking a few years ago. I did little walks whether around a lake or towards a cave or along the beach. I then decided I wanted to do more, so after some research I found Hadrian’s Wall which is 84 Miles. With little experience for a big hike,...
