Why I walk?

I walk to get away from the everyday little stresses and worries and enjoy either walking on my own or with friends. I love the beauty of what nature can deliver and seeing places that we don’t get chance to see everyday.

I first started walking a few years ago. I did little walks whether around a lake or towards a cave or along the beach. I then decided I wanted to do more, so after some research I found Hadrian’s Wall which is 84 Miles. With little experience for a big hike, we did this over 6 days and gained so much from doing this. It was one of my greatest achievements as I wasn’t the fittest and still a newbie to all this!

After this I got a taste for mountains, I had previously hiked Snowdon, which I nearly didn’t make as I’m scared of heights I had seen the last stretch past Copa summit and started to panic.  Luckily I made it with the help of two gentlemen who asked if I was OK and told me not to come this far to give up, so I listened and followed them slowly making my way to trig point. I’m so happy I carried on, the views were amazing and worth all that effort and courage in the end!

Since then I’ve been a little more active to help gain fitness and skills to aid in my hiking. For example I have started at the gym. Nothing too heavy, just a jog and few basic weights and rock climbing as new hobby to try help overcome my fear of heights (which has helped me. Not fully, but has worked slowly). I’ve even planned and walked a lot more routes since then and have started a mission of completing the 214 Wainwright’s. So far I have completed 8, not a lot I know, but it gives me time to plan and really look forward getting back out there and show you guys what I see and why I do it.

I created a YouTube channel to show what’s out there and that anyone can do it. Don’t get me wrong, some of the stuff I have done has been hard mentally as well as physically but trust me it’s all worth it.

I’ve started taking more photos and videos to capture as much as I could to show you  and hopefully will inspire you to get up and go and let go of everyday dramas and enjoy what nature has to offer. If you are anything like me, maybe conquer some of thoses fears, you don’t have to go far to see beauty could be in your local area you will be surprised what you can find.

So please get up and go explore I promise you won’t regret it.
