Post Lockdown Dreaming

Post Lockdown Dreaming

This time of lockdown has been difficult for so many.  We are all dealing with it in different ways I guess.  Some love to be on permanent duvet days, some are enjoying the time to do the things they never had time for, baking, painting, spring cleaning.  While I can see some good in all of those things I still feel like a caged animal, longing to break free and run!  All these activities are things that distract my mind from dwelling on the fact that I cannot just put my walking boots in the back of the car and head off to the hills!  My dreams are filled with mountains, streams, vast open spaces, everything that is to be found in the Lakes.  I close my eyes and imagine myself there, Haystacks, Catbells, Derwent Water or Skiddaw, feeling the muscles in my legs straining, the fresh air filling my lungs, the spectacular views so pleasing to my soul.  How I long to leave my nest and fly again!
