Reading is said to promote mental health, reduce your stress, improve your general knowledge, make you more empathic, expand your vocabulary and writing skills, strengthen your analytical thinking skills, improve your memory, focus and concentration, boosts your sleep, bring you inner tranquillity and become better at conversing. What's not to like?!

Finding time in your daily routine for a 30 minute work out for your brain each day brings a plethora of benefits. It doesn't matter if you are starting with "Billy Blue Hat" or "War and Peace", once you start making it a habit, reading can change your life.

One legend has it that a fly was annoying an Irish monk, Coloman of Elo, while he was reading. This fly kept running all over the pages and distracting him. So he decided to put it to good use and ordered the fly to stop on the last line he read, and stay there until he was ready to read again. According to legend the fly obeyed!

Whether it's a fly, an old train ticket, a photo or a turned corner you use to keep track of where you are in your book, these bookmarks are the perfect little tool to add to your collection.

All bookmarks are lovingly handmade on a wooden lap loom in front of the log burner in a 200 year old cottage in Lancashire, or out in the woodlands and fields surrounding The Fell Store HQ if the weather is fair.

You can never have enough bookmarks! They also make a thoughtful gift and are the perfect little stocking filler.

Made with Axminster Rug Wool and cotton. Roughly 5cm by 15cm (22cm with fringe)
